Well that would depend upon how the scriptures are being interpreted. According to the teachings of the apostles, the answer is yes, the world is coming to an end. But the question is now, “which world is coming to an end?
The world ends in the truth. “The world” in reference is the world that works within us, that is the one that will end. Consider the prophet words recorded in Ecclesiastes 3:11 “God has made everything beautiful in his time; also God as set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes (creates) from “the beginning to the end” (the truth).
Apostle John gives more light to this world by telling us what works in it: “all that is the world (of the heart), is the lust (desire) of the flesh (man’s own wisdom), the lust (desire) of the eye (man’s own understanding/perceptions) and the pride of life is not of the Father (the Spirit), but of the world. The world will pass away (end) but he that does the will of God, abides forever”. IJohn2:16,17
Is it not true then, that if we understand what the world is, then wouldn’t we know and understand what God is saving us from? For God so loved “the world” that he gave his only begotten Son (Word), that whosoever believes in him, will not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into “the world” to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16,17.
